Reflection on the past 10 days...

It has been 10 days since I started eating differently.  Fresher, healthier.  I have noticed a lot of differences.  I have more energy.  I have lost weight (yeah, but not main focus for me).  "Regular food" kind of grosses me out now.  Gone are my cravings for junk food.

I cook a lot more.  I eat a lot more. I get a lot of comments on my lunches in the staff room.  People want to know what I am eating....they think it looks delicious!  A lot of people have told me I look really good lately. (No, I am not insulted by this, I am a single parent, work a lot at a school, and usually look tired I am sure).

A fellow blogger at http://themuffinmyth.com/ posts recipes that are very helpful.  She just posted one for no-sugar banana muffins that are so good...you don't miss the sugar because the chopped dates make them so sweet and moist.

Tonight I went through my kitchen and threw out the last of the bottled salad dressings and packaged foods that I had saved "just in case" this whole new way of eating didn't work out.

It's sticking, and I like it:)

In the Beginning...

It's official.  Today I start my first day of "clean eating".  I co-worker turned me onto this, and the more I read about this, the more it made sense to me.  I wanted a place to track what I am eating, store recipes, and write about my challenges...so here I am.

It is shocking when you go to the grocery store and read what is in so-called food.  Even a loaf of whole wheat bread that you think is healthy has glucose somewhere in the first 4 ingredients...

So I sit here with a cup of tea, sprouted grain toast, and natural peanut butter.  And I look forward to a new journey:)
